Star Jones’s Biography
Born in North Carolina, Jones moved to New Jersey as a child. After obtaining a law degree from the University of Houston, she was hired by NBC as a legal correspondent. Jones left NBC in 1994 and moved to CBS to conduct a broadcast called Jones & amp; Jury. The show was not very successful and was closed, but Jones was named chief legal analyst of the Inside Edition current affairs program, where she mainly followed the O. J. Simpson case.
In 1997 Barbara Walters wanted her as co-host of her new show, The View. The broadcast gave Jones the chance to be known by a wider audience and the same host was considered a pillar of the show until June 27, 2006. In fact, during the episode’s live, Jones announced to the public that she would left The View and thanked the Walters for the concessional opportunity. After the revelation, however, the woman told the press that the abandonment of The View had not been her decision. The day after, at the opening of the episode, Walters told viewers to feel betrayed and announced to them that Jones would no longer appear in the program except for some pre-recorded segments. The Jones name disappeared from the ABC site and from the broadcast headlines.
The controversy seemed to subside, but just two years later, in 2008, Barbara Walters published her autobiography, “Audition”. In the book Walters wrote that Star had asked her co-workers to keep her gastric bypass surgery (which had caused her to lose more than twenty-seven pounds) and in an interview with Oprah Winfrey she stated that “She was clinically obese. to move on the set “. In addition to the intervention Walters declared that she and the other co-conductors of The View had to lie because Star imputed the causes of weight loss on a diet and pilates. Jones’s reply did not wait; the presenter said: “It is a sad day when an icon like Barbara Walters, in the sunset of her life, is reduced to publicly boiling like an adulteress, humiliating an innocent family with the counts of her illicit affair and talking negatively about me all with the purpose of selling a book, he spoke his true character “. Walters in turn retorted that she did not want to ennoble Jones’s comment with an answer.
A few months later, talking about his former colleagues, Jones called them “hateful”. Walters replied that Jones had spent wonderful years with them and declared that “Star has become a star thanks to The View”. In 2007 Jones returned to TV with a personal talk show, Star Jones. The broadcast, however, did not get the desired results and was canceled from the schedules in February 2008. After a few years of small television hostesses, in 2011 Star Jones returned to the screens as a competitor of The Celebrity Apprentice, the VIP version of the reality of Donald Trump The Apprentice.
