Nate Dogg , pseudonym of Nathaniel Dawayne Hale (Long Beach, 19 August 1969 – Long Beach, 15 March 2011), was an American rapper and singer.

He was famous for his melodic flow and was one of the few hip hop artists who scanned melodic rhymes rather than just rapped.

Nate Dogg’s Biography

He began to sing as a child in the choir of a church in Clarksdale, Mississippi, where his father Daniel Lee Hale was a priest (celibacy came in 1980). At 16, he left high school in Long Beach and left home to enter the US Navy. Remained in the army for three years, Nate formed the trio rap 213 in 1991, along with his cousin Snoop Dogg and his friend Warren G, all from Rollin ’20’s Crips. Until 2004 they have not released any albums.

Nate Dogg made his solo debut in 1992, with the album by Dr. Dre The Chronic. Highly respected by fans and critics for his vocal style, he signed for Death Row Records in 1993. In 1994 he produced his first single “Regulate”, with Warren G. For Breakaway Records, in 1998 he released his first album. Three years later he released his double album G-Funk Classics Vol. 1 & amp; 2, which together with Music & amp; Me was registered for Elektra Records. Music & amp; Me reached third place in Billboard’s hip hop charts.

Nate has been successful mainly thanks to collaborations with other artists, and has contributed to the popularity of over 60 singles. He also wrote many of these songs.

Originally published in April 2004, his namesake album Nate Dogg was published in mid-2005. In June of that year, traces were sold on the official Elektra website.

After returning to the studio to record a new record, on January 18, 2008, Nate Dogg was hit by a stroke. The singer remained paralyzed throughout the left side of the body; he would be able to recover the mobility with a rehabilitation, but on 5 September 2008 he was hit by a second stroke, which reduced him to a state of complete immobility from the neck down. He was fed with a gastric tube from September 2008 to December of the same year, but he could no longer move his arms or legs.

He died on March 15, 2011 at the age of 41 because of this last stroke.
